Palmetto Psychology Clinic

Accessibility

If you are reading this site one-handed, at 3 a.m., on bad wifi, with a baby on you — that is the person it was built for. Here is what we do about it, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.

What we build to

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In practice that means every text and background pair is measured rather than eyeballed, every interactive element has a visible focus outline, nothing relies on color alone to carry meaning, headings run in order, and every image has real alt text rather than a filename.

Motion is kept close to zero on purpose — no carousels, no parallax, no autoplay — and what little there is switches off entirely if your device asks for reduced motion.

The pages are plain HTML. There is no JavaScript on the homepage at all, and the only script anywhere is the booking calendar, which still works as an ordinary link if scripts are blocked.

What we know is imperfect

The booking calendar is provided by our scheduling company and runs inside this site rather than being built by us, so its accessibility is not fully in our hands. If it is in your way, call or text (628) 285-1745 and a person will book for you. That route will always exist.

We do not use an accessibility overlay widget. They do not deliver what they promise and they often make screen-reader navigation worse.

Telling us something is wrong

Email hello@palmettopsychology.com or call or text (628) 285-1745. Tell us the page and what happened — you do not need the technical words for it. We will reply and we will fix it.

Please do not include private health information in email — email is not secure.
